What data is processed

If you write to a Plaintext email address, the data you include in your message will also be processed, together with the metadata needed to manage it.

Purposes

Technical data is processed in order to operate the website, maintain availability, detect incidents, and reinforce security.

Data sent by email is processed to answer the request, manage the relationship resulting from that communication, and, where applicable, comply with associated legal obligations.

Legal basis

The legal basis for processing technical data and access logs is Plaintext's legitimate interest in ensuring the security, integrity and operation of the website, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

The legal basis for processing data sent by email is the taking of steps at your request before entering into a contract where applicable, as well as the legitimate interest in replying to communications received. Where a legal obligation exists, processing may also rely on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.

Recipients

Data is not sold or disclosed to third parties for commercial purposes.

Data may be accessed, as processors or essential service providers, by the hosting provider and, where applicable, other providers strictly necessary for the technical operation of the website or email.

Retention periods

Server logs will be kept only for the period strictly necessary for operation and security purposes.

Email communications will be kept for as long as necessary to handle the request and, afterwards, for the periods required by applicable law or for as long as liabilities may arise.

Cookies

Plaintext does not use non-technical cookies or equivalent technologies for analytics, advertising personalisation, or tracking.
